A Journey

Our Journey began when a young Joseph Gatt discovered his passion as a gold smith. Gaining his experience in local workshops, provided him with the opportunity to pursue further studies in Australia where he lived and worked for two years. 

Upon his return to Malta, he opened his first workshop in Floriana, where he practiced his craft and brought forth new technology and techniques. From his small workshop, he soon started supplying many local businesses with his distinguishable products. 

In 1984 he took the leap to open his own shop in the heart of Malta's Gold Street. A challenge if there ever was one, but with determination, Ave Maria Jewellery was born and a brand established.
